Prologue: Gods, Lords and Warriors:
Chapter III: The War Within The War

Prior to the Alliance with Humans, the Elven race had gone through troubled times. Technological advancements were becoming more and more mechanized and the use of ballistic weaponry made its debut, while archaic and more "honorable" methods of war were being ignored. The conversion of Mana into a source of industrial energy (called M-Energy) was also a key factor in future developments of the Elven Way of Life. Many more elves had also begun to oppose the Vatican's ways and the White Empire, saying they were too harsh and war was not the way to spread Isuviel's word. Others simply denounced the existence of their Mother Goddess, turning to scientific evidence of the world's origins.

In 902 of the White Empire's Rule, following the Elf-Human Alliance, the Dominion was separated into three factions. In addition to the Tel'Quessir (regular Elves), there were the Winya'Quessir (New Elves, dedicated to technology and opposed to spiritual beliefs) and Sintar'Quessir (Elves of Knowledge, dedicated to Isuviel and opposed to the use of almost anything technological).

In the year 1,050 B.R., the White Empire fell into a state of Civil War. The Sintar'Quessir withdrew from the war early on because they believed murdering their kin was never part of Isuviel's plan. Soon after, the Northern provinces declared sovereignty and formed their own nation of Lothrain. The southern and western provinces, populated by the Winya'Quessir, also detached from the Empire and formed a new order, the Technocrats, and still remain hostile towards their former brethren.

Having lost nearly 2/3 of their population, the White Empire's influence began to diminish, along with its military. Morale in the nation of Telnathial had been dealt a serious blow and the Black Legion capitalized on this. Forming an alliance with the Technocrats, The Black Legion laid siege on the Elven capital city of Menefalas and the Vatican was burned to the ground. In time, the Elves were able to recapture Menefalas with the help of human reinforcements from overseas, but the damage had already been done. The Church of Light had little to no influence on the Elven people following the destruction of the Vatican. Though some remained true to the word of Isuviel, many Elves simply ignored the idea of supreme beings. The war had ended, the White Empire had fallen, and with that came the Dark Ages.

In the coming centuries, The Black Legion and Technocrats slowly regained the land they had lost in the imperial era. The once proud Elven armies now depended on the strength of humans to fight back this menace. The Templa Tel'Quessir taught humans how to manipulate Mana to create Magic in exchange for the defense of their homelands. Eventually, the remains of the Elf-Human Alliance began to march on the Black Legion's strongholds. After only a few decades of peace, Sia fell headfirst into another war. The Sintar'Quessir (commonly referred to as Celtic Elves) felt the fall of the Empire was the Tel'Quessir's punishment for their folly and refused to get involved in the war.

This war, simply dubbed "The Great War", lasted for 600 years after the fall of the White Empire. Tired of conflict, many Elves left Telnathial for the Human nations, where the war had some distance from one's doorstep. Humans, occupying the main force of the Allied armies, eventually annihilated the Black Legion. Orcs and Goblins nearly became extinct and rarely bothered Elves save for those who joined the Technocratic countries. In 336 B.R., the Allied nations were united under one government, named the World Coalition Authority (WCA).
