Prologue: Gods, Lords and Warriors:
Chapter I: Genesis
The following historical data was taken from the Parma En'Ont , which is the elven "Tome of Creation" that tells the story of the planet's birth as well as the origin of all living things. With advances in science and technology, several theories about its creation were formulated. Many of which even dismissing some of the beliefs in the pages ahead. However, because elves are the oldest and therefore wisest race, their faith is respected world-wide and their understanding is viewed as the "official answers" to historical queries. This is also why many ancient words, names or expressions are in the elven tongue.
In an era where time had no meaning and the physical plane was yet to exist, two sibling gods waged war on what they called the Ethereal Planes. The two deities were Isuviel, Goddess of Light, and Naekor, God of Darkness. Their battle would decide who had the right to create and rule all life on a world of their own. The forces of Light were formed of angelic beings, called the Valinore, and those of darkness had demons, called the Raukowaith. The two sides shook the Astral Realm with their might for eons.
Wise as they were, the two siblings were forgetting a necessary ingredient for the new world to be created: balance. Eventually, one of the lesser deities, Afardo the God of Reason, humbly explained to the two greater gods that in order for life to take place, the balance of power between light and dark must be equal. One cannot exist without the other. Thus, their war, no matter who the victor was, would mean the end of existence itself. He proposed the two create a world where both of them could rule together. The Siblings instructed the elemental gods, Sylph (Goddess of Wind), Undine (Goddess of Water), Faenor (God of Fire), and Rauku (God of earth), to create this new planet as they saw fit.
Once the land was laid and the rivers carved, the four elemental deities combined their auras to create what is now known as Mana, the spirit of the planet. This gave the planet the ability to harbor life. Instead of creating their own separate races, Isuviel and Naekor chose to create the inhabitants together, in spirit of their alliance. Isuviel would have control of the creatures' virtues, while Naekor would take charge of their vices.
The first people to be created were elves, an immortal people of grace, beauty and intelligence. Of course, due to Naekor's influence, these qualities led to great pride. Isuviel wished to leave the world with a single race in hopes that war, although inevitable due to Naekor's involvement, would be limited. Naekor agreed... for a time.
The Elves prospered and, for over ten thousand years, the world was free of conflict. Naekor's influence had yet to take its toll on the people. This was because the Elves were fond of the Mother Goddess, Isuviel, and worshipped her in every way, ignoring their father, Naekor. This, of course, made the Dark Father extremely bitter and he demanded Isuviel let him create a second race that would worship him.
Isuviel settled to create the Tomyr: A race of powerful warriors who embodied the very virtues needed for the battlefield. Naekor's involvement in the Tomyr's origins led once more to pride, along with hatred. The Tomyr were also mortal, as were all the other races created henceforth. This was because the God of Darkness felt the Elves did not worship him because they had no fear of death. The possibility of casualty made the Tomyr believe in the dark side of existence.
This, however, did not satisfy the Lord of Destruction. The Tomyr, although violent, felt no need to wage wars. To thwart this, Naekor secretly created races of his own, most of which being results of experimentation with Elven and Tomyr blood. The results were abominations such as Orcs and Goblins. These dark races worshipped war and chaos, the very thing Naekor represented, with every waking moment. Upon learning of Naekor's betrayal, Isuviel banished him from the Ethereal Planes and cast the Dark Father into the Abyss. Though the Elves were indeed intelligent, they had never dealt with a threat as great as the Dark Races. The Blessed Creator instructed the Tomyr to aid them in defending themselves from any calamities the Lord of Destruction would inflict upon them. Thus, the mortal Tomyr became guardians of the immortal Elven race and kept their lands free of destruction.
